There are chills a-plenty at the Devonshire Park this week as the Brian Clemens thriller Strictly Murder comes to Eastbourne for a limited run from Thursday 6th until Saturday 8th April. A star cast is led by Brian Capron (Coronation Street, Where the Heart Is) and also includes Corrinne Wicks (Doctors, Emmerdale), Gary Turner (Emmerdale, Hollyoaks) and is directed by Samuel Clemens, the award-winning son of the writer.
April 1939. An English couple, Peter and Suzy, are living in rural Provence in idyllic isolation, far it seems from the rumblings of the coming war. Hitler and his troops seem a long way away, the lavender fields and warm Mediterranean sun make for a perfect idyll. Suzy works at a nearby hotel and Peter sells his paintings of poppies to tourists, their front door is never locked, they are young and in love and life is good.
But their peace is about to be shattered when Suzy discovers that she has been betrayed and Peter is not the man he claims to be.
Her life is thrown into turmoil as the possibility arises that Peter may in fact be a ruthless killer on the run. When a Scotland Yard detective unexpectedly arrives at their door events become even more complicated and frightening… Lies, subterfuge and murder make this fast-moving thriller a dark and disturbing roller coaster of bluff and double bluff.
Written by Brian Clemens, creator of The Avengers and The Professionals, this intricate and engaging story is sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats right up until the final nail-biting conclusion.
