A new, short film highlights Operation Watershed Active Communities Fund’s successful first five years of helping communities to act against flooding.
The county council launched the fund in 2013 and, since then, more than £3million has been provided to 160 local groups, initiating more than 350 projects across West Sussex.
Bob Lanzer, Cabinet Member for Highways and Infrastructure, said: “Five years on, and the Operation Watershed success story continues.
“The film gives a brief insight into what’s being achieved through the commitment of people in the community and everyone involved in the scheme: their hard work has helped boost flood prevention in West Sussex and I thank them for that.”
Debbie Kennard, Cabinet Member for Stronger, Safer Communities, said: “Operation Watershed is really fantastic at helping to bring people together and helping them to make a difference in their communities. Long may it continue.”
