Burgess Hill’s new look Youth Website received plenty of smiley faces when it was launched at a recent meeting of the Burgess Hill Youth Council.
The youth website redesign was carried out in-house by Burgess Hill Town Council staff member Alexa Gardner following consultation with local young people. The new website can be viewed easily from a smart phone, is much faster to update, and allows visitors to upload their own events. To view the website please visit www.you-bh.com.
The youth website provides information on all the activities in the town for young people in the 11-18 age group, including a wide range of clubs and youth groups, sports, music and arts, volunteering, as well as information on where to get help and advice. There are also sections for promoting forthcoming events and for local bands to post their details.
The Burgess Hill Youth Council said “The things to do page is really cool as when we are bored we can find interesting ideas to keep us busy. The events page is great as it keeps people up to date.”
Burgess Hill Town Mayor, Councillor Chris Thomas-Atkin, said: “As our young people are increasingly able to access information online it is great to see that local information is more easily available to them through the redesigned website.”
