Hang On – The Jersey Boys are in Eastbourne

The award-winning production Let’s Hang On, a musical journey through the prolific career of one of the USA’s most successful bands of all time – Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, is at the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne, fittingly on American Independence day, Friday 4th July.

From the beginnings in the early 1950’s, the show includes hits such as; Beggin’, Grease, Bye Bye Baby, Sherry, Take My Eyes Off You, December 1963 (Oh What a Night!), Working My Way Back To You and many more, climaxing with a spectacular finale with, of course, Let’s Hang On.

The show tells the story of four blue-collar New Jersey Boys from the wrong side of the tracks who invented their own sound, wrote their own songs and became a world renowned pop sensation with over 150 million records sold!

Particular highlights of the show include the live acapella doo wop segment which is set on a recreated a New Jersey Street corner and the fabulous finale which features electrifying performances of Rag Doll, Sherry, Walk Like A Man and Big Girls Don’t Cry.

Founded by Dino Buttarazzi (lead guitarist) and Martin Peat (bass guitarist), with Scott Walker on drums and Robin Maughan as Frankie Valli who has been described by critics as ‘a charismatic and mesmeric front-man’. The band are supported by keyboards, a stylish three-piece horn section, atmospheric lighting and overhead projections which all combine to make a slick and impressively staged show.

The group were invited to the Royal Albert Hall by Frankie Valli himself last year, and have played all over the country to great acclaim. This recently revamped production which now features brand new sound, lighting and projection is sure to be a treat.

Let’s Hang On appears at the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne on Friday 4th July at 7.30pm with tickets priced from £20 – £24 available from the boxoffice on 01323 412000 or online www.eastbournetheatres.co.uk.
