Children In Need to Benefit from Tunbridge Wells Show

As announced by Melanie C on BBC Radio 2 this morning, Spike Edney and his All-Star band will be donating all proceeds from their Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall show this November to Children In Need. In addition to this, the gig will see all performing artists donate their services for free.

Children In Need provide grants to projects in the UK, which focus on children and young people who are disadvantaged. They are local to people in all corners of the UK and support small and large organisations that empower children and extend their life choices. Since 1980, Children in Need has supported children’s projects in the UK by raising over £650 million.

Spike Edney says: “The Band and I are very happy to have this opportunity to support such a worthy cause. When it was first suggested that we could help Children In Need by donating all proceeds from our Tunbridge Wells show on 29th Nov, every performer and musicians put their hand up to help and said ABSOLUTELY! We hope the people of Tunbridge Wells will enjoy the show and I thank them in advance for helping us support this worthwhile cause”

There will also be collection buckets present at the gig should attendees wish to make any donation.

The show will see legendary recording artists and some of the UK’s finest musicians perform some of their biggest hits, including recently announced Spice Girl Melanie C, 10cc’s Graham Gouldman, Soul/Jazz Icon Madeline Bell, Rock Legend Patti Russo (Meatloaf), The Fabbagirls (Abba Tribute) and Bucks Fizz’s Cheryl Baker with more musical and surprise guests to join at each show.

Spike Edney is one of the most respected and versatile session musicians and musical directors in the business. In addition to being legendary rock band Queen’s musical director and keyboard player since 1984, British multi instrumentalist, Spike has toured, recorded and performed with the living and late legends of our time for over 40 years, including, but not limited to, Bon Jovi, The Rolling Stones, and Eric Clapton. It is from this extensive network of musician friends he calls upon to put together each unique show.

Tickets, £40.00 seated and £36.00 standing, are available from the Assembly Hall Theatre box office on 01892 530613 or online at www.assemblyhalltheatre.co.uk
