There will be no end of hip shaking for Elvis fans in Eastbourne this September with a performance that will have you jiving in your seats for A Vision of Elvis – one of the world’s foremost touring Elvis productions – lands at the The Royal Hippodrome Theatre for a special performance that will take you on a trip through the stellar career of The King of Rock and Roll.
Rob Kingsley performs as Elvis in an award-winning show that celebrates the music of The King from the early breakthrough years at Sun Studio, his 1968 comeback special right up to his final concert years. Rob, who is touring with acclaimed backing band The Cadillacs and the Sweet Sensations backing vocalists, said: “I am very excited to be performing at The Hippodrome. “Eastbourne, I understand, has many Elvis fans and so I’d like to invite them all to A Vision of Elvis. It is a show I am sure they’ll enjoy.”
A Vision of Elvis comes direct to Eastbourne on the back of a smash European tour, where Elvis fans across the continent were enthralled by an uplifting, and authentic, Elvis experience. Such is the likeness of A Vision of Elvis to a performance by The King, that former Elvis photographer and stage manager Ed Bonja has become a fan.
Mr Bonja said: ““On stage Rob Kingsley looks extraordinarily like Elvis, he sings like Elvis, but most importantly, he seems to capture the very soul of Elvis – his charisma, his gestures – he even walks like Elvis! Rob’s contact with the audience is immediate. As soon as the concert begins, surrounded by his musicians and backing vocalists, he takes the spectators on an emotional roller coaster through time.”
Rob added: “If you’re looking for the look, the sound, the charisma of an proper Elvis show held together with a spectacular live band, then this is a show that will have you dancing in the aisles. If you want to party, reminisce or simply be entertained by some of the best music ever, then A Vision Of Elvis is definitely for you!”
Rob gained early recognition when he was crowned the Official European Elvis Champion by winning Europe’s largest Elvis competition, and he has authentic costumes that were made by Elvis’s personal costume designer.
A Vision of Elvis comes to the The Royal Hippodrome Theatre, 108-112 Seaside Road, Eastbourne, BN21 3PF on Saturday, September 6th, at 8pm. Tickets for the show are available online at www.eastbournetheatres.co.uk or by calling the theatre booking on 01323 412000.
