Singer-songwriter Andrew Foster at Worthing’s Connaught Studio for first full gig

Hampshire-based singer/songwriter Andrew Foster visits Worthing’s Connaught Studio on July 5 to perform his acoustic blend of indie-pop and folk.

Having been championed by BBC Sussex, Solent, Bristol and 6 Music over the past two years, Andrew has supported Seth Lakeman, Cara Dillon and The Wonder Stuff. He had previously supported Passenger, Mumford and Sons, McFly, Hard Fi and Charlene Soraia as well as playing the Isle of White and Wickham festivals. He is a regular performer at The Annual Nick Drake Gathering and has ongoing guitar sponsorship from Adam Black Guitars.

Influenced by traditional song-writing, psychedelia and electronic synthesis, Andrew is known for creating imagery through song to create a make-believe world with his meandering melodies. His EPs and first three albums, Media Ghost, Panic Moon and The Garden, were released on Andrew’s label Green Fish Records.

Andrew’s prolific number of releases, including the most recent EPs, Russell’s Teapot and New Criterion, which were both released within six months, led to and continued Andrew’s four-year role in support of fellow singer-songwriter Terry Reid on his tours from 2010 to 2013.

Building on his Worthing appearance in June supporting John Hegley, the full gig will be an opportunity to hear some of the tracks from his upcoming studio album Science and Magic. The album will be released later this year, has been mastered by renowned engineer Pete Maher and explores themes of religion, rationality and the human condition.
