West Sussex charity auction to turn unloved cars into Feel Good Factor

  • Shoreham Vehicle Auctions call on dealers and drivers to donate stock for charity auction
  • Fourth year of SVA supporting Chestnut Tree House
  • Buyers can snap up a deal as all fees are waived to maximise proceeds

Shoreham Vehicle Auctions (SVA) is calling on dealers and drivers across the county to donate any unwanted vehicles for their charity auction on 27 October  to raise funds for the Chestnut Tree House for a fourth year.

Cars and vans of all ages, shapes and sizes, with or without an MOT, are being welcomed for the event. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to Chestnut Tree House, with the auction house waiving all fees to maximise proceeds.

The removal of fees will also drive even more value for the day bidders, who can gain additional feel good factor from knowing their bids on a variety of vehicles are going to a great cause.

Chestnut Tree House, the only children’s hospice in East and West Sussex, cares for 300 children and young adults with progressive life-limiting conditions. Offering support to their families, this includes psychological and bereavement support, end of life and short break care and sibling support.

Annual service charges are over £3m but families are never charged for their care. With less than 8p in every pound funded by the government, they rely heavily on donations.

In 2013, over £10,000 was raised for Chestnut Tree House and SVA is hoping to match that amount again this year.

SVA dealer sales manager Catherine Stone said, “Charity events are a real highlight, and bring their own buzz to the auction house. Everyone’s donations make a huge difference to a truly great cause. Last year, bidders were treated to a variety of metal all for great prices. This year, we are calling on the trade and public alike to make our event bigger and better.

“The charity auction is something we all look forward to. The money raised makes a difference to a cause we are all passionate about here at Shoreham Vehicle Auctions. And with a vast array of vehicles going under the hammer, bidders and visitors will be in for a real treat, whether they are looking for new stock or just a winter run-around.

“This is the first time we’ve put a call out to the public and industry alike. We are hoping both will reply with kind donations and make this year the best yet!”
