Young Mayor’s Fundraising Success

SEAFORD, 27th MARCH 2020 – On Friday 13th March, the Seaford Young Mayor James Jenkins, assisted by the Deputy Young Mayor Chanel Pritchard, hosted a General Knowledge Quiz at The View at Seaford Head. The team entry money and proceeds from the raffle raised a fantastic £300!

The Young Mayor also held a non-school uniform day at Seaford Head School which, thanks to all the students who participated, raised a further £400! Thanks also goes to Seaford Head School for helping to arrange this.

All the proceeds are going towards funding for Water Refill Stations in Seaford to encourage and support the community in using refillable bottles and reduce single-use plastic.

Quote from the Young Mayor:
“A very big thank you to Seaford Head School for allowing us a non-school uniform day, we raised £400 which will go towards installing water refill stations. As for my recent Quiz Night, what an enjoyable evening! Chanel and I had so much fun planning and hosting the event. We managed to raise £300 even though we were in the early stages of the Coronavirus pandemic and some teams were unable to attend due to illness or self-isolation, so thank you to everyone who came along. Thank you!”

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, as mentioned in the recent Seaford Town Council Position Statement – all Town Council projects are suspended until further notice. Seaford Town Council’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Position Statement. Therefore the installation of the water refill stations will unfortunately be delayed but all funds raised will be held for this project. There will also be no further fundraising activities until further notice to support the Government’s social distancing guidance.
