Seaford Musical Theatre (SMT) was recognised for its contribution to Music and the Arts at the BBC Radio Sussex and Surrey Awards on Monday 30th November at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Gatwick.
Accepting the award SMT Chairman Tony Betts said “I am proud and humbled to accept this award on behalf of all the volunteers who work so hard to maintain the Barn Theatre. With a re-established community cinema, thriving performing arts section for all ages and a wide variety of events, we have transformed live local entertainment in Seaford and come a very long way in the last three years.”
The Junior section of the charity were also recognised at the East Sussex Youth Awards the previous week, with finalists in eight categories including drama, music, volunteering, achievement and fundraising.
The next show at the Barn Theatre is a ‘Big Band Christmas’ show on Saturday 12th November.
