Seaford Head Imminent Cliff Fall

Following information received from the public Town Council Officers have this morning inspected the new crack in the cliff at Seaford Head and found that there has been a recent collapse of cliff onto the beach and that there is likely to be another very soon.

The area has been roped off and warning signs erected.

The public should not at any time go within 5 metres of the cliff edge. This is particularly neccessary at this time. As can be seen from one of the attached pictures the cliff is cracked on the surface as well as the side and will collapse imminently.

Standing on or near the edge of a cliff at any time is very dangerous and should not be done in any circumstances.

Seaford Town Council is looking to divert the existing “desire lines” at Seaford Head to bring pedestrians further away from the cliff edge. New roped areas will be created to change the routes that people take when walking up The Head to get to the world famous views of The Seven Sisters and The Coastguard Cottages.

The status of the cliff will continue to be moniotored by Seaford Town Council.
