One of Littlehampton’s most popular attractions will be relaunched this Easter
with the return of rowing boats to Mewsbrook Park Boating Lake.
Six new vessels will be available to hire at the busy park from this Easter, with
plans to have another ten delivered in time for the summer holidays.
David Chace, who runs the café in the park, has taken on the attraction and has
chosen traditional-style wooden boats to blend in with the theme of the awardwinning
park.
David said: “It is an honour to bring Mewsbrook Park Boating Lake back to its
former glory and provide a first-class service to the local community and visitors
to Littlehampton.”
Councillor Paul Dendle, Arun District Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure and
Amenities, said: “I am delighted that rowing boats will soon set sail on the lake
at Mewsbrook Park once more. I’m sure the attraction will be a real draw for
locals and visitors alike and we have every confidence that David will run the
concession with pride and enthusiasm.”
The new boats will be available to hire from Friday 25 March and the attraction
will be open Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 4pm, and every day during the
Easter holidays. It will cost £1.50 for children and £2.50 for adults with a
minimum of two people per boat.
