Public voting for the I Love My Pharmacist Award 2016 is now open and a pharmacist from Buxted is among just four finalists from Southern England and the Channel Islands.
Pharmacists are often the unsung heroes of the NHS. They don’t just dispense medicines, they also work alongside GPs, nurses, hospital staff and even care home staff, providing expert advice and vital services such as medication reviews, as well as providing services in the community such as stop smoking support and lifestyle advice.
Paul Scott-Harris, 38, is a community pharmacist from Buxted, East Sussex. Working in Buxted Pharmacy for over two years, Paul is the only pharmacist in the Uckfield area to have full access to patients’ health records. With this access Paul can make life-changing alterations to medicines, without the patient having to be referred to their GP, saving time for both the GP and the patient, as well as saving the NHS money.
The pharmacist in each of the 6 regions with the most votes at the end of 21st July will be declared the Regional Winner. They will then be invited to meet the I Love My Pharmacist judging panel who will choose the National Winner.
Until 21st July you can read a lot more about Paul, his work in Buxted, and also vote for him, using this website link –
