Simon Kirby, Member of Parliament for Brighton Kemptown & Peacehaven is delighted that so many MPs voted in support of Theresa May yesterday in her bid to become the next Prime Minister.
The Home Secretary received 165 of the total 329 votes, Andrea Leadsom came second with 66 and Michael Gove got 48. Liam Fox was eliminated in fifth place. Stephen Crabb who came fourth dropped out.
There will be further voting tomorrow to narrow the candidates down to two. The eventual outcome will then be decided by Conservative party members with the result due on 9th September.

She has visited me in Brighton Kemptown in the past and seen what a special place our constituency is. We need someone with her experience to unite and lead us.”
