Picnic and Play – More Family Holiday Fun

Free play and sports for all ages continues at Hughenden Pocket Park and Linton Gardens.

Organised by Hastings Borough Council’s Play Hastings team, play continues through the holiday period at these two pocket parks.

“Following on from the successful Play Days in the Park we are really pleased to offer more family play in two of our smaller green spaces” said Cllr Dawn Poole the council’s lead member for play.

“There will be so many free activities for families to get stuck into including treasure hunts, seed planting, clay, crafts, football and badminton and much, much more. Activities are being delivered by the council’s Play Hastings and StreetGames team on Mondays 8, 15 and 22 August at Hughenden Road Pocket Park 12.30 – 3pm and on Wednesdays 10, 17 and 24 August at Linton Gardens 11am – 1.30pm. No need to book, just come along with a picnic and join in the fun!” added Cllr Poole.

Councillor Sue Beaney of the Better Braybrooke Residents’ Association commented:

“I welcome this opportunity to invite more people to discover the delights of Linton Gardens – it’s a hidden gem! The park is tucked away and deserves to be appreciated for what it is – a quiet retreat for all ages close to the town centre.”

“We look forward to seeing lots of families here during August, there’s so much to do” she added.

These picnic and play days are funded by Hastings and Rother Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). All children under 8 years of age must be with an adult to stay and play.
