GRAMMAR – LY

The program Grammarly is supposed to be the best programme for proof reading – I suppose it is a matter of opinion whether you think it does the job for you, but having uploaded a short report from one of my already published Columns, it found about twenty three writing issues which I found quite puzzling and amusing.  Is the programme trying to prove that it’s worthwhile purchasing? You can get a FREE copy of the program with CHROME or is it free? When you follow through with step 2 giving your name and email address you find that step 3’s heading is titled “PAYMENT” – I’m confused.com

Follow the Rules or Else?

Have you noticed that all the programs that are offered gratis are tied up with RED TAPE and rules that are meant to be followed.  Take STREETLIFE for instance – you can’t use too many capitals, even if it is necessary to do so, because they argue that you are SHOUTING.  How on earth can you shout using written words, what a ludicrous and lame excuse.  I don’t know who makes up the rules.  I suppose it gives them something to do.  You can imagine them sitting around a table:  What kind of rules do you think we should have?  ’Oh let’s say too many capitals are SHOUTING. What a cracking idea, good thinking Jones!’

Then there are the companies like Microsoft, Supanet and all the other SERVERS that you pay for handsomely each month who take your money each time their pay day comes round.  Can you get an Email to them when things go horribly wrong?  Not on your NELLIE.  You will have noticed that as a customer, you have to do all the running around even though you are paying someone that is invisible to you.  I sent off two emails to my server that had failed delivery.  Too large was the excuse, but trying to get in touch with them to ask if you had a better package is just out of the question unless of course you have about five hours to spare waiting for them to answer you.

Another Scam!

Where do people get these ideas from?  It must tax their brains, if they have any to start with of course.   A well-known company who have impeccable credentials had what I believe to be a scam among its many listings, it was so cunningly done that I was nearly taken in until I heard two different people read word for word the same script about how to earn lots of money by going on the Internet and getting what they call as many HITS as possible.  Pigs might fly!  If its as easy as that – its got to be a scam.

On the Home Front

It seems that a few trees are being cut down in Eastbourne – one outside the main Post Office at the beginning of Langney Road.  Someone stated that three trees were cut down outside Eastbourne’s central Library.  I wonder why?
