Renowned open-air theatre group, Chapterhouse, returned to Field Place on Wednesday 24th August for a performance of Emily Bronte’s classic, Wuthering Heights.
Proving to be an unmissable evening of entertainment, high-emotion and drama, there were picnics and Pimms on the picturesque lawns of Field Place Manor House, Worthing, whilst being immersed in the haunting yet treasured story of love, passion and revenge, told on the open-air stage under the stars.
South Downs Leisure welcomed two competition winners to the show, who each won 2 front row tickets as well as picnic hampers and a bottle of bubbly. Caryl Stamp, who entered via email and Christine Hall who entered via Facebook, both really enjoyed the show with their plus 1’s, with Caryl saying:
“We thought that the Chapterhouse Theatre company gave an excellent performance and weren’t we lucky that the few drops of rain didn’t amount to anything much. We will certainly look out for future performances at Field Place which is an excellent venue.”
This is story has thrilled and entranced for generations and tonight was no different, being brought alive on stage as an adaptation by award winning writer Laura Turner, who has adapted other classics for Chapterhouse Theatre.
Another viewer, Jill, expressed her delight at the show and advised that it was highly recommended to see the show, stating:
“It was a magical evening under the stars with refreshing, innovative storytelling and a strong ensemble cast.”
An unforgettable night, a great performance and lovely surroundings; thank you to all that attended to enjoy the show.
