Epic Tale of Love and Loss Premieres in Worthing

Inspired by the classic novel, and other much loved works, from American author Jack London, Jethro Compton presents his new play, White Fang. The UK production will premiere at the Connaught Theatre, Worthing, on December 7th and 8th before heading to the Park Theatre, London, between December 14th and January 13th.

The show opened at freeFall Theatre, Florida, this October, right in the midst of Hurricane Irma chaos. Despite the enormous destruction from the hurricane, which left the theatre entirely unusable, White Fang opened in a custom built pop-up space and played for a month to sell out houses and received rave reviews.

The story is set in 1898, North-Western Canada, deep in the forests of the Yukon Territory. After the massacre of her tribe, a young girl is rescued from the snow by an old huntsman from a nearby settlement who offers shelter and the strength to survive. Torn from centuries of tradition, facing a new and violent land, she struggles to find her path in the world. An outsider to all, she discovers hope in the friendship of an abandoned wolf, White Fang.

With this newfound alliance, the two unite with the land, learning the ways of her ancestors. Lethal with blade and bow, there are few who can match her skill in the wild. But when the time comes and she faces her greatest challenge of all, the threat of assimilation and the extinction of her identity, will these skills be enough to make a difference? Will they be enough to survive? White Fang is an epic story of love, loss, and redemption – red-written in the snow.

White Fang appears at the Connaught Theatre, Union Place, Worthing on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th  December at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £17.50 (Concession 16.50, Friends £14.50, Student £9.50) and are available from the Worthing Theatres box office on 01903 206 206 and online at www.worthingtheatres.co.uk
