Active Aged 50+ Live Well Worthing

On Wednesday 16th May 2018, Worthing Leisure Centre is playing host to the second annual Active Aged 50+ Live Well Worthing afternoon.

Following the success of the inaugural event last year, held in the beautiful grounds of Field Place Manor House & Barns, South Downs Leisure are pleased to be hosting this year’s event at our site in Shaftesbury Avenue, Worthing, in partnership with the Worthing Dementia Action Alliance; including the Alzheimer’s Society, Adur & Worthing Wellbeing and many other organisations. The idea is to bring an afternoon of fun for the over 50’s, and is especially open to those affected by dementia and their support networks.

There will be a host of activities on offer throughout the afternoon with professional coaches, including: Table Tennis, Yoga, Pilates, Walking Football, Showtime Dance and Barre Fusion, as well as Wellbeing MOT’s, Audiology testing and more. There will also be sessions with the Coastal Prevention Assessment Team, who are health professionals that can discuss individual health needs and can recommend or signpost to other services.

Organiser of the event, Jacob Woodward, commented: “We are really looking forward to welcoming the community along again to this special afternoon and expect everyone to leave having had a fun but relaxing time. The success of last year’s event at Field Place Manor House & Barns meant we were really keen to offer the service again, but moving to the new site means we can offer a different selection of activities for our visitors.”
