Veterans and Armed Forces Day

100th Anniversary of Armistice returns in 2018 to help the ‘Combat Stress’ Charity

Seaford Town Council and the Royal Society of St. George are pleased to announce that the Veterans and Armed Forces Day is returning to Seaford on Saturday 30th June 2018, at the Martello Fields, from 11am until 4pm.  Make it a date for your diary!

The day will be packed with activities and entertainment for the whole family, including a military parade, inspection, live music acts including Conil Music and the lovely Rosie from Full Beam Productions who will be entertaining us from decades past.  A children’s funfair, arena displays by the Seaford Lifeguards, community and craft stalls, inflatable assault course, military vehicles and artefacts, food and drink stalls and so much more!

The Parade and Inspection starts at 12 noon on the seafront near to the Martello Tower, marching down to the Martello Field for the Inspection. In attendance will be the Dep Lieutenant of Sussex, Maria Cauldfield MP and the Seaford Mayor. The entertainment programme, funfair and stalls will continue after the parade has been inspected.

The Veterans and Armed Forces Day is celebrated across the nation and gives everyone an opportunity to recognise and support military personnel past and present.

This year the organising committee is proud to announce that funds raised from the day will be donated to ‘Combat Stress’, the UK’s leading veteran’s mental health charity. Combat Stress provides a vital lifeline with treatment and support for over 6,000 veterans and their families.

There is still just time for applications for stalls. If you want to showcase your crafts, or produce, or promote your charity, spaces for stalls are limited, so please do not hesitate to contact via email facilities@seafordtowncouncil.gov.uk or phone 01323 872975.
