On Friday 12th April & Saturday 13th April, Uckfield Theatre Guild will be performing Peter Pan – A Musical Adventure, a musical based on J. M. Barrie’s original play. Written by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, the team responsible for The Wind in the Willows, the Mary Poppins stage show and the great new songs in Half A Sixpence, with book by Willis Hall.
Musical numbers, including There’s Something in the Air Tonight, Never Land, The Cleverness Of Me, A Pirate with a Conscience and When I Kill Peter Pan, will be performed by members of Uckfield Theatre Guild (UTG), and Uckfield Theatre Guild Youth (UTGY), who have been rehearsing since September 2018, with Director Emma Creffield, and Musical Director Charlie Damazer.
Based on J M Barrie’s classic tale, this musical whisks you away to a place where dreams are born, and no-one ever grows up when, late one night, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell visit the nursery of the Darling children, seeking to retrieve the boy’s shadow. So begins a magical journey, as the ever-young Pan takes Wendy, John and Michael across the stars, for an adventure they will never forget, in Neverland!
With Tiger Lily and her braves, the Darling children and The Lost Boys spot Mermaids, build a house, and battle Captain Hook (Played by the Mayor of Uckfield, Spike Mayhew) and his pirates, before returning to Mr and Mrs Darling in their London home. Perfect for the entire family, Peter Pan – A Musical Adventure features some great tunes that kids and adults alike will love.
