Short story competition launched to aid wellbeing during enforced lockdown

Launching this month children and young people between the ages of 6-14 and their parents will be given the chance to have their short stories published on The Tourist Trail website.

Encouraged to pen their ‘dream holiday in the UK’ the competition gives families a project and a positive goal to focus upon during the unprecedented Coronavirus pandemic.

Open for entries until 15 May 2020, The Tourist Trail is challenging young people and their parents to get involved in a nationwide project to encourage families to keep their minds active whilst staying at home.

Mental health charity, Mind, has issued advice* actively encouraging people to keep their brains occupied and stimulated in these challenging times. Little wonder the idea has been warmly welcomed by parents for inspiring imaginations as they work together during lockdown.

Robin Williams, director of The Tourist Trail, comments: “At a time when young people and parents will be striving for ways to keep their minds engaged, we wanted to offer an opportunity for people to look to the future with hope and excitement.”

The Tourist Trail, a UK travel and tourism website, aims to publish every entry, showcasing the budding authors work on a national platform, The Tourist Trail will also be offering prizes for the top three submissions from young people, and the top three submissions from parents.
