Meet our new columnist Sree Krishna

Sree Krishna was born to a medical family in a time before the internet. With all other career paths having been deemed unsuitable by his parents, he enrolled into medical school – even attending occasionally. Through a combination of good fortune and the sympathy of his consultants, he was seen to have developed sufficient gaps in his ignorance to be awarded a medical degree.

Worn down by the grind of night shifts as a ‘proper’ doctor, he soon waved the white flag and looked for any escape. With all vacancies at the local Tesco having been filled, he decided to become a dermatologist – after all, you just put steroid cream on it, right?

When he opens his clinic doors, he admits to often being flummoxed by the difficult questions that patients pose to him. In view of this, he now spends half of the week looking at skin samples under the microscope (which don’t generally ask difficult questions), with the other half spent in the hospital doing clinics and surgery. He is keen to share tales from life in the hospital, perhaps spliced with some sensible dermatology advice.

Sree Krishna will be writing a regular column for The Sussex Newspaper starting from next month.
