Come and learn the Cha Cha, Jive, Tango and Waltz at The Hawth with former World Ballroom champion and Strictly Come Dancing trainer, Lorraine Drolet.
Lorraine started dancing at the age of 4, and has competed nationally and internationally. Her amateur career culminated as World Amateur Champion, receiving the Ballroom Dancers Federation Award for outstanding performance and after turning professional, she became Canadian Champion and European finalist. After retiring from competition, Lorraine toured in the first live dancing show of its kind – Burn the Floor, and is now a teacher and adjudicator at championship, intermediate and beginner levels for all ages.
Lorraine has taught everyone from 11000 children in Croydon schools, to 3000 children in Westminster as part of the Olympic bid and even cricketer Darren Gough and EastEnders and Hollyoaks actress Gemma Bissix prior to their appearances on a Sport Relief Does Strictly Come Dancing in 2012.
Lorraine is honoured to be one of 11 judges at British Closed Nationals at the Winter Gardens this month, by far the most important and prestigious competition in the British dance calendar.
