The school bell at Rydell High is about to ring as Seaford Musical Theatre Juniors finish their final rehearsals for the worlds favourite musical, ‘Grease’. The show is on at the Barn Theatre, Saxon Lane, Seaford, from Friday 4th April to Sunday 6th April.
The community children’s theatre group narrowly missed out on winning the Epic Award for Voluntary Arts for England last month – losing to the Pandemonium Drummers who opened the Olympic ceremony in 2012.
“For our group – who are a fraction of the size of the drumming collective – to be shortlisted as one of the top six voluntary arts groups in England is an amazing achievement,” said Paula Woolven, co-founder and director of the juniors, “I think they liked our community involvement ethos and our encouragement and support for our members to gain awards such as the vinspired (volunteering) or national arts awards.”
Tickets for the SMTJ production of Grease can be bought at the Tourist Information Centre in Church Street, Seaford, during office hours, or online anytime at www.ticketsource.co.uk/thebarntheatre
