A pop starlet from Rye is giving away free tracks to promote her gig at Rye’s Studio School.
Sophie McGinness, 17, will be singing and playing guitar and show-casing her latest material at her concert on Friday July 4.
She has been writing songs since her early teens and was signed by a record label in France. Originally from Inverness, Scotland, Sophie is a pupil at the Studio School and is now finishing exams.
She will be releasing five tracks online between now and the gig. She said: ‘My songs are very personal, I would love people to share them, and to come and support me.’

The school has recently won praise from Education Minister Michael Gove, who described it as ‘wicked’.
A spokesman for her record label BTU Media said: ‘Go Sophie! The only way is up!’
