Smash Hit Sequel is Packed Full of 60’s Hit Music

Dreamboats and Miniskirts, the sequel to the smash-hit musical Dreamboats and Petticoats, will bop it’s way into the Congress Theatre Eastbourne from 25th – 30th August, and the Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells from 22nd – 27th September, and will feature the original characters as they enter into an exciting new period in pop-history – the 1960’s.

It’s 1963, and the world is changing. Bobby and Laura’s hit single “Dreamboats and Petticoats” has not taken off. Norman and Sue have settled down to non-marital bliss – and a baby! But Ray and Donna seem blissfully happy…

The advent of The Beatles and the Merseyside sound is inspirational, but will it inspire Bobby and Laura to have one more shot at stardom – Norman to “get off the drains” and find that singing voice he has longed for, and Ray to finally realise his ambition and manage a really top pop act?

All will be revealed in a follow up with the same wit, charm, and great songs as Dreamboats and Petticoats. Inspired by the multi-million selling 50’s songs featured in Dreamboats and Petticoats, Dreamboats and Miniskirts features some of the greatest hit songs from the swinging sixties.

Loaded with historical touches from £5 wages, candyfloss and new cars – with heaters!, to literary references and an authentic sounding live band providing lively versions of Da Do Ron Ron, Do You Love Me, Pretty Woman, The Twist, Glad All Over, Summer Holiday, You Were Made For Me and At the Hop to name but a few.

Again written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the team behind Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds of a Feather, The New Statesmen and Shine On Harvey Moon, this sequel is also produced by Bill Kenwright and Laurie Mansfield in association with Universal Music.
