The annual Town Day Dow Show in Victoria Park returns with fun for all the family

Town Day returns to Victoria Park in Haywards Heath this summer on Saturday 13th September and it is promised to be even bigger and better than last year.

The picturesque park will be full of attractions, including Hayward Heath’s first mascot competition, live performances and the popular dog show hosted by The Mewes Veterinary Clinic.

On the very same day the Tour of Britain (elite cycling race) will be coming through the town between 12pm and 1pm, featuring several of the world’s top professional cyclists.

There will also be a Military Parade organised by the Mid Sussex District Council in celebration of signing a military covenant.

The parade will feature cadets and military personnel, who will be parading alongside a marching band down South Road and into Victoria Park.

The annual Town Day is a celebration for everybody living and working in Haywards Heath. It is a great occasion and a perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones too.

Everybody is welcome to join in the celebrations, including your four legged friends. The award winning team at The Mewes Veterinary Clinic is inviting all dog owners from the area to have some fun by entering the dog show.

Haywards Heath Vet, and principal of The Mewes Veterinary Clinic, Julia Mewes, commented: “We are hoping to make this our best Dog Show yet.

“Last year we had a fabulous time, despite the rain. But there is good news! The weather forecast looks great so we are hoping for lovely weather and even more competitors.”

Any breed, size and age of dog is welcome, regardless of pedigree, and there are plenty of categories for you to enter.

Julia said: “I am particularly looking forward to the ‘Handsomest Dog’, ‘Scruffiest Mutt’ and of course, the ‘Best Fancy Dress’ categories.

“The outfits that dog owners create are brilliant and sometimes really funny!”
