The Mid Sussex Wellbeing team is getting 2015 up and running by helping local people to get back into exercise and learning to run.
Mid Sussex District Council’s Wellbeing Team is working in partnership with Albion in the Community to help local residents who haven’t exercised in a while get back into their stride. They have joined up with Haywards Heath Harriers and Burgess Hill Runners to provide dedicated running groups that will help beginners learn to run.
The Learn to Run courses are open to anyone who would like to start running and are provided for £1.50 per session in Burgess Hill and £2.00 per session in Haywards Heath. The courses are designed for absolute beginners and aim to help people to progress from a walk to being able to complete a 5 kilometre run in ten weeks.
“These Learn to Run sessions are managed by qualified Run England leaders, who have lots of experience helping people who are new to running,” said Councillor Christopher Snowling, Cabinet Member for Heath and Community. “They will provide you with all the support and advice you need as you gently build up your fitness, so sign up now and book your place.”
The next course starts in Burgess Hill on Wednesday 11 February at 6.30pm. To find out more call Angie Steel on 01444 229770 or email angie.steel@albioninthecommunity.org.uk
