A Potpourri Of Events

THE BBC

The new director-general Timothy Davie CBE, another Conservative, announced that he is planning a shake-up of the BBC – in what direction it is not known, well that’s not true and with his predecessor Baron Tony Hall’s blessing, another Conservative decided to make the Senior Citizens pay for their television viewing and to give some cop out for a minority of the aged, to use the Pension Credit as a passport for a free television licence to be given.

It was intimated he was instructed by a higher authority to improve the BBC by introducing more Comedy – look no further than the box in the corner of his office, because I was under the impression he was going to promote SOAPS such as East Enders and Coronation Street, making them more sensational, probably more violent, although we have enough of that in the real world and that is why you and I have had to pay for a TV licence – what a feeble excuse and Soaps are not everyone’s cup of tea!

Perhaps when the General Election comes along we will not be voting for the Conservatives.  You can understand what the CON stands for in the Conservative Party!

TWO METRES APART!

I wonder if the viewers have noticed on the news that when interviews are being held, the person who is holding the microphone is two metres away from the person, he or she is interviewing, doesn’t this signify to the public that Covid-19 can still be caught by anyone when too close?  The clusters of mainly young people on the beaches at home and abroad with their bravado actions are the culprits in this situation and this learning curve hasn’t yet quite reached their puny brains.  I apologise if you think I am abrupt and rude, but it seems that commonsense doesn’t rule in their families.

Reported 463 new cases of Covid-19 in Eastbourne on the 29th August 2020!  Should you be worried?               Please stay TWO METRES APART!

PONTINS GROUP Camber Sands

In the interest of Health and Safety, I find it very difficult to understand why the Council cannot intervene and close down this group who have refused to answer why their chalets and toilets have been left in a dangerous condition and haven’t made any effort to clean their premises.  At a time when Covid-19 is rampart and is part of our lives wouldn’t the Council feel it is part of their duty to safeguard the public?  Covid-19 doesn’t need any help to spread its deadly cargo of disease by adding another source of deadly germs.

I can’t believe that persons are still making enquiries about staying at Pontins when this was reported as an item on the BBC and ITV News on 26th August 2020.  Many people have paid to stay and have found chalets and toilets filthy.  The greedy persons who own this establishment should be horsewhipped into doing something positive by cleaning up the mess and all material advertising the camp should be withdrawn until this has been done.

The above is just my opinion and anyone who wants to write to me care of the newspaper regarding the content – please do so!  Swear words are not accepted.
