An Astronaut in the Family at Midhurst Library

Midhurst Library welcomes astronaut Tim Peake’s dad this month at a talk celebrating West Sussex ‘Geek Week’.

Nigel Peake, father of Tim, will be speaking about his son’s experiences in training and going into space.

The event takes place on Monday, October 31 at 11am at Midhurst Library.

In December 2015 West Sussex-born Tim blasted off from Kazakhstan bound for the International Space Station – the first Briton to do so.

Come along and find out how he was selected, what his training has involved, and what he was doing when he orbited the earth for six months.
Tickets are £4, and are available from Midhurst Library on 01730 716671 or Midhurst.library@westsussex.gov.uk

Geek Week returns for its second year in libraries across the county from Friday, October 28 to Saturday, November 5.
Events and activities celebrating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), books and reading are taking place at West Sussex libraries all week.
