“If we were talking to you on your first day here we would say, “Welcome to planet Earth. There is nothing that you cannot be or do or have. And your work here—your lifetime career—is to seek joy.” ~ Abraham-Hicks
Do you feel like joyful success is missing in your life? Society has conditioned fears into all parts of our lives along with terms that stop our awareness of true triumph. Failure has become a word that produces shame. “I’ve just found 10,000 ways that don’t work,” Tomas Edison commented about his many attempts to invent the electric light bulb. Edison was right it does take effort to move into success.
What kind of effort relates to success? There are two kinds of success. Is social success brief or sustainable? Alternatively, does inner success bring eternal, lasting contentment that we call joy? Which explanation of success is yours?
I wanted validation, acceptance, and peace in my life, because my life was chaotic and dysfunctional growing up and in my marriage, Apparent success came as valedictorian from high school, graduating from college, soloing on the flute with a symphony. I looked like a success in my job as a teacher, family, and community. However, I felt unwanted, lacked self worth, and did not have peace of mind.
Ultimately, I realized that personal fulfillment for success required me to apply new tools to my endeavors, because I was dying from poor medical protocol and my fearful state of mind. It was time to say, “I want a happy life and to feel good inside.
I became willing to release all the barriers to the love that was in my heart. Fears in my life had stopped many successes. Realizing and identifying that guilt, shame, anger, jealousy, and other negative feelings, are forms of fear, was a new understanding to me. They were obstacles to my achieving beyond my fear-based life. They were obstructions to my achieving success beyond my fear-based life. The details for this process are described in my book, “Paradigm Busters, Reveal the Real You” available at Amazon.com.
Accepting the past circumstances is important to releasing the old emotional attachments. Sending love, gratitude, forgiveness, and compassion are the new messages that change the energy. My loving response in each life incident successfully restores my soul.
Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” Over many years of self-searching, I found that my thinking was obscuring my inner truth of success with childish and selfish reactions from old disturbances and harms. My motivations were self-seeking and my life was lacking love. My success was buried deep inside under the painful trauma and drama of my growing up and destructive marriage. I became willing to let love be my guide and motivation.
I saw a movie called, “A Beautiful Mind” in 2001. It is an American biographical drama film based on the life of John Nash, a Nobel Laureate in Economics. He endured mental illness throughout his life. At the end of the film, his life seemed normal. He states at the end of the movie that he quit listening to the voices in his head.
I also gave up those voices in my head that were detrimental to my victory. Thinking created emotional reactions from fear. In healing, I allow new positive communication to inflate and grow. Forgiveness permits love to return to my awareness, I successfully see a world of peace, safety, and joy. Releasing the judgment of others and myself allows space for love, faith, and trust. I found my old thinking was an illusion. Forgiveness releases me from the painful past. I can effectively return to wholeness and joy. I found all forgiveness is a gift to myself.
Amazingly, today my outer successes are manifesting from my new inner messages from my heart and not my ego. This understanding has brought balance and harmony to my life. I am attracting new happy projects and activities that seem almost effortless at times.
I am able to accomplish the impossible dream. I take responsibility for my whole life. Victoriously, I open the doors to my heart so that the inner light can manifest out as love, abundance, and peace. A successful person has the courage to open the door to their heart embracing life and all its beauty. I always was a success. Bravo!
