Sussex Wildlife Trust is running monthly beginner birdwatching sessions from January to June on Tuesday evenings at Woods Mill Nature Reserve near Henfield. Mike Russell, Head of Adult Learning, will give presentations on identification techniques, habitats, bird conservation, spring migration and birdsong.
Also on one Saturday morning each month the group will meet for an outdoor field trip at a top bird site in Sussex with the chance to see the iridescent blue flash of the kingfisher, hear a nightingale sing, or watch a majestic buzzard hovering overhead.
The course is suitable for beginners and those with a little knowledge, and takes place on Tuesday evenings from 19:00 to 21:00, and on Saturday mornings. Cost for the five-month course is £120 for Sussex Wildlife Trust members and £140 for non-members.
