Class Distinction!

Don’t get too excited over the title of this piece as it has been alleged that School boys and girls are growing up to be bad pupils.  I can’t state that their academic results are affected by their behaviour, but nevertheless their growing up status can be marred by the wrong sort of guidance by their parents or by the kind of television programmes that portray crime.

A good example is “Line of Duty” where police corruption at the highest level is suspected.  If the police are fictionally portrayed as baddies and however good the story line is presented it obviously isn’t being segregated by children between a real live scenario and something thought of by imagination.

That does put the mockers on a lot of television programmes that portray excellent dramas and therefore that puts the blame on parents who are not guiding their children in the proper manner.  Children are good at disguising their true identities at home, whereas if they are allowed to roam the streets at night they become different people.

Girls are allowed to flaunt the school uniform to portray someone that is older than they are which invariably leads to trouble with a capital T.  Boys get up to more sinister acts and could find themselves serving a prison sentence.  There have been lots of serious crimes reported about stabbing and taking someone’s life – those who perpetrate this act think they will get away with it – but the answer to that is NO THEY WON’T!

You all have probably heard this before, but in my day – there were no computers, no games consuls and only black and white television – none of the pleasures of today and yet I was not considered as a young person who was not whiter than white and I was just as mischievously prone to do something unconventional than my character normally portrayed – but I never committed a crime.  I would be in those young days punished for my act of discretion which didn’t do me any harm but it certainly taught me one thing – the difference between right and wrong which seems to be missing in children of today!

The above is just my opinion and anyone who wants to write to me care of the newspaper regarding the content – please do so!  Swear words are not accepted.
