A small charity that provides support for people affected by infertility, pregnancy and perinatal loss has received £1,000 from a leading housebuilder.
Muma Nurture, based in Eastbourne, received the funding from Persimmon Home South East through its Community Champions, a match-funding scheme that gives away £2,000 every month to community good causes.
Victoria Sparkes, who founded Muma Nurture in 2017 and gained charity status the following year, said: “As a very new, very small charity we are heavily reliant on fundraising and support, in order to continue our services.
“Thank you for choosing us Persimmon Homes, this is wonderful news. We offer support across Sussex through counselling and therapies, working with issues that are not often spoken about, but far more common than people realise.
“It is vital for us to be able to provide a safe, comfortable and confidential space for those in need and our clinic enables this. We are staffed entirely by volunteers including our therapists who are all qualified, experienced professionals.”
Martin Crick, sales director at Persimmon Homes South East, said: “Muma Nature is an expanding charity working hard to raise funds and its profile, and we are happy to help.”
Persimmon’s Community Champions scheme gives away two awards of £1,000 every month. From April, as the country feels the effect of the Covid-19 outbreak, all funds will be diverted to help groups working with the over-70s. To apply, visit www.persimmonhomes.com/charity
