Eastbourne does Book Week

It’s World Book Day on 6th March and in the run up schools across the UK will be using the week to take a closer look at books.  Not to feel left out Henrietta the Hippo shall be doing the same on Saturday 1st March during her Funhouse Show at the Royal Hippodrome Theatre at 10.30am

This will be the second Henrietta Hippo Funhouse of 2014 and the theme of the show is “Book Week” and the audience is encouraged to come dressed up as their favourite  children’s characters.

This month host Nikki will be joined by special guest host, Alex Adams, who rumour has it likes the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”.

Henrietta also has a very special guest, in the form of Helen Dennis—writer of the highly acclaimed “Secret Breakers”  series of children’s books.  She is writing a special short story for the show.

Also mums and dads, do you remember the cartoon series “Willo the Wisp” featuring the voices of Kenneth Williams?  Well, Henrietta has obtained special permission to show the popular episode featuring “the Bookworm”.

All this on top of the usual fun, frolics and songs from the Funhouse Crew and the ever popular games. Henrietta Hippo’s Funhouse is the ideal show for children aged 3—8 and is a great  introduction to the theatre for the young who may never have been to a theatre before. A fun packed morning’s entertainment during this gloomy weather on offer at  Eastbourne’s oldest theatre.  The show starts at 10.30am and tickets cost £4 in advance or £6 on the door—available from usual outlets and Eastbourne Theatres Box Office 01323 412000 or at www.royalhippodrome.com.
