Two of the nation’s top comics are coming to Eastbourne’s Congress Theatre this year and tickets have just gone on sale: Sean Lock returns to Eastbourne on Friday 16th September and Romesh Ranganathan heads to the town’s premiere venue on Wednesday 5th October, both shows are expected to be extremely busy so early booking is strongly advised.
Sean Lock last appeared at the Congress in 2013, now he’s back with a new show and a new suit! The “Keep It Light” tour takes Sean across the length and breadth of the UK. One of the UK’s most highly acclaimed and original comedians, his comedy style is that of bizarre surreal imagery combined with insightful observations of the human condition.
Of his many TV credits he is perhaps best known as a team captain on 8 Out Of 10 Cats, and as a regular on Live at the Apollo, QI and Have I Got News For You.
Romesh is one of the UK’s fastest rising comics; the spring leg of his 2016 “Irrational” tour has totally sold out with new dates added for autumn due to huge demand. Irrational explores the rationality of his world-view and why everyone else is wrong.
A former Maths teacher from Crawley, Romesh burst onto the comedy scene in 2010 and quickly made a name for himself with his sardonic style. He cut his teeth on the comedy circuit in Brighton where he honed his material and style, compering at Komedia’s Comic Boom and went onto be nominated for numerous awards and enjoyed acclaimed Edinburgh Festival shows: Rom Wasn’t Built In A Day and Rom Com.
Famous for his many appearances in BBC shows: Mock the Week, The Apprentice – You’re Fired, Bake Off – Extra Slice, Live at the Apollo, his own hilarious BBC Three series Asian Provocateur plus The Royal Variety Show and winner of comedy channel Dave’s Comedian of the Year Award, a night with Romesh is not to be missed.
