‘Fantastic’ Opportunity to Learn Lessons of Reshoring

Manufacturers gather in Crawley in November to learn the lessons of successful re-shoring from low-carbon ventilation business Vent-Axia.

The Sussex-based business will be talking to the Sussex Manufacturing Forum about their decision to bring assembly lines back to Crawley from China in January last year – a move accompanied by investment that has seen staffing levels rise 50% over pre-re-shoring days and a doubling of the company’s on-site manufacturing of its residential unitary fans.

In total, Vent-Axia committed over £350,000 in tooling for the new production lines, as well as investing in associated building works.

“This is a great opportunity to hear at first-hand about the rationale behind Vent-Axia’s re-shoring decision and the subsequent experience of bringing the assembly lines back to the UK,” says Chris Coopey (pictured), a Forum facilitator and head of the Manufacturing Group at Carpenter Box chartered accountants.

The event is being held at the Arora Hotel Gatwick in Crawley on Tuesday, November 11 from 8am-10am. In addition to Forum members, the event is open to any manufacturing or engineering business with a base in Sussex.

If you are a manufacturing or engineering business you can register for the event, by signing up on the website sussexmanufacturingforum.com, or contact Lucy Tunstall at Carpenter Box by e-mail lucy.tunstall@carpenterbox.com

The Forum is sponsored by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), accountants and tax advisers Carpenter Box and HSBC Bank Plc.
