Get in the festive spirit with Petworth charity Christmas concert

The Petworth Town Band and Petworth Primary School are holding a charity Christmas concert on Sunday 8th December in aid of Chandlers Building Supplies’ Chandlers £50k Challenge appeal.

During the first half of the show the band will be playing a number of classics, before being joined by the Petworth Primary School choir to perform a selection of Christmas songs.

The Chandlers £50k Challenge is aiming to raise £50,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.  It is in honour of Chandlers’ employee Rob Sadler, a Cystic Fibrosis sufferer himself and trumpet player in The Petworth Town Band.  Rob is having a double celebration during 2013 by not only marking 30 years of Chandlers employment, but more significantly his 50th birthday. Those with Cystic Fibrosis are not expected to live beyond their 30s.

Rob Sadler commented: “The band’s Christmas concerts are always extremely popular and really get everyone in the festive spirit.  This year’s concert is even more special for me as it will help to raise money for the Chandlers £50k Challenge and I’d like to thank everyone in advance for their support.”

The concert is taking place at St Mary’s Church in Petworth at 2.30pm on Sunday 8th December and refreshments will be available. Tickets are £6 with under 16s going free.  Tickets can be purchased in advance from the Bay Tree Bakery in Petworth or via the Petworth Town Band’s website – www.petworthtownband.com.  Tickets will also be available on the door, subject to availability.

A portion of the proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to the Chandlers £50k Challenge charity appeal.
