North Mid Sussex County Local Committee (CLC) members have approved applications for Community Initiative Funding and Prevention and Wellbeing Grants for the year ahead.
The CLC has been allocated funding for Prevention and Wellbeing Grants and distributed them to a number of voluntary and community organisations in the area, such as Age UK East Grinstead and District, St Catherine’s Hospice and Jubilee Community Church.
The money will be used for projects which promote social contact, exercise, and educational activities.
The Committee also allocated over £3,000 of Community Initiative Funding to Bluebird Community Transport and Parochial Church Council of St John the Evangelist.
Committee Chairman Christine Field said: “We are pleased to be able to help groups who carry out vital work every year on behalf of the community in the North Mid Sussex area.”
The meeting was held at West Hoathly Primary School and committee members were able to see how previous Community Initiative Funding had been used to buy a defibrillator for the local community. The defibrillator will be placed on the outside wall of the school. A second machine is to be placed in Sharpthorne.
The next meeting will take place on Wednesday September 23 at 7pm at East Grinstead Library.
