HMS Shoreham is expected to dock in Shoreham tomorrow afternoon (Weds 11th May). This mine cruiser has a long association with the area and was awarded the Freedom of Shoreham-by-Sea in February 2011 by Adur District Council.
Residents are welcome to welcome the ship as it docks at the Inner Harbour through the lock gates at approximately 4pm on Wednesday 11th May 2016. Best viewing spots are the Eastern Harbour Arm or beside the Lock Gates in Southwick; Shoreham Fort on the Western Arm or Kingston Beach by the RNLI Boat Station. It departs on Monday 16th May, time to be advised.
HMS Shoreham is an impressive sight, and its docking will coincide with the end of the school day. Shoreham-by-Sea, and Adur District Council, has long standing affiliations with the Royal Navy’s HMS Shoreham, which is a Sandown Class mine countermeasure vessel (MCMV). HMS Shoreham:
