Immigration

I quote from a National Newspaper “A British man was separated from his wife of 45 years while in hospital for cancer treatment – after she was refused a UK residency visa.” The Conservative run Immigration Office in London came up with all sorts of excuses why this person shouldn’t be allowed to join her husband which is rather sickening to think that some of us (not me) voted this lot in to run our country. The first excuse, and one can only assume that an official from the Immigration Office must have been living with them to announce that “THEY WEREN’T IN AN AFFECTIONATE RELATIONSHIP,”   Mr and Mrs Summers had to get friends to give testimony and photographs of their marriage, after which a spokesperson stated that their marriage was genuine. The second refusal was because they hadn’t sufficient funds to live in the United Kingdom. The Immigration Office failed to take in consideration Mrs Summers’ part time salary working for a Canadian Optical Company which took them comfortably over the £35, 000 threshold.

The Immigration Officers (whoever it might have been) have no “PERSON SKILLS” as the following extract describes. ‘Mrs Summers emailed the Tribunal asking for a quick decision on compassionate grounds. She received a reply “SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR HUSBAND’S ILLNESS”, AND TELLING HER TO SEND HER APPEAL BY POST. A spokesperson from the Immigration Office summed up the situation with the usual load of twaddle by stating Mrs Summers did not provide sufficient evidence to demonstrate she met the requirements and an appeal was dismissed by an independent Judge. It is so easy to lay blame on another individual because it appears on the surface that the Immigration Office didn’t have to make that decision to deny Mrs Summers access to the UK, but I believe personally it was one of their Officers in another department who made the decision. The reason being the Immigration Office have fought tooth and nail to deny Mrs Summers to join her husband who is ill.

If I hadn’t read about this case in the newspaper, I would think it was a script for a PANTOMIME BY THE IMMIGRATION OFFICE. These so called FAIR MINDED PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA and shouldn’t be allowed to stay in office.

Now if you’re coming from Syria, you would be welcomed by DC AND HIS COMIC PARTY WITH OPEN ARMS and they don’t have to have £35,000 and don’t have an affectionate marriage. SO IT LOOKS LIKE A RULE FOR SOME PEOPLE AND NOT FOR OTHERS WHO HAVE GENUINE EXCUSES TO BE ADMITTED INTO THIS COUNTRY.

Extract from one of my previous GG Column (Obviously I don’t believe in people gaining entrance into the United Kingdom illegally!)

  1. Terrible story. Unfortunately rejection stories like these are becoming far more common. It’s easy to blame bureaucracy but someone in those departments must be able to make a decision.
