A frozen Christmas and a helper for Santa who is full of X-Factor is predicted for the Pavilion Theatre, Worthing, this December when producers, Paul Holman Associates, return with the follow-up to last year’s smash-hit production, Santa Claus the Musical. Jack Frost’s Frozen Christmas tells a festive, family-friendly tale of Jack Frost reaping his revenge on Santa Claus and freezing Christmas for eternity. However, Santa has a plan Frost hasn’t factored for; X-Factor star Marcus Collins!
Having sung his way into the nation’s hearts when he auditioned in the 2011 series of The X Factor with the Motown hit Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours, Marcus will be delivering classic Christmas hits as the battle of good over evil is brought to life in a spectacular, snow-topped style guaranteed to thaw the coldest of hearts. Starring as Santa’s right-hand man, Marcus will be making magic and music in the role of Billy and doing everything in his power to help Santa.
With his modern day slick and sophisticated presence, his strong voice and even stronger sense of his own style, Marcus Collins captured the nation’s hearts with his X Factor auditions, and journey through boot camp and judges houses to the live knock-out rounds. Mentored by music legend Gary Barlow, entertaining and engaging with his winning personality and soulful singing, Marcus finished as runner-up to Little Mix, the first group to win the show, performing to a sold out Wembley Arena and more than 14 million viewers watching at home.
The X Factor Live tour followed before Marcus’s self-titled album was released. With original material penned by the talented Liverpudlian, the album entered the UK charts at number seven and received massive critical acclaim. Last year, Marcus was back on tour around the country in the box-office smash-hit musical Hairspray, again receiving excellent reviews from critics and audiences.
Producer Paul Holman said: “I’m thrilled that Marcus will be joining the cast of Jack Frost’s Frozen Christmas. He is an incredibly talented and popular performer who we know will attract and delight audiences who are increasingly rediscovering the top quality, and great fun, entertainment that is available at Worthing’s Theatres.”
Jack Frost’s Frozen Christmas will once more offer all the audience pleasing ingredients families, groups and schools enjoyed with last year’s production of Santa; a sparkling, shimmer-fest of costumes, creative, eye-catching scenery which takes audiences from Santa’s workshop to a frozen palace at the North Pole, plenty of sing along hits such as Frosty the Snowman, Sleigh Ride and Winter Wonderland, all topped off with the beauty of story which will entertain and engage audiences of all ages.
Opening on Friday 12th December, Jack Frost’s Frozen Christmas plays until Thursday 1st January 2015, making it the perfect festive family treat. Tickets are available from Worthing Theatres on 01903 206 206 and online at www.worthingtheatres.co.uk.
