Lanes Health Clubs Join Worthing RFC as Centenary Champion

On 3rd March 2020, Lanes Health Clubs, a reputable fitness and wellness club situated in Rustington, was confirmed as Worthing Rugby Football Club’s (Worthing RFC) new Centenary Champion. From its humble beginnings in 1920, Worthing RFC has grown into a hugely established part of the Sussex community and local business and networking partnerships, with a growing community of over 30 Centenary Champions.

Despite the current closure of fitness and sporting facilities in response to COVID-19 safety procedures, both clubs are determined to maintain community, support and communication between members and local businesses alike. With plans for an enthusiastic return once clubs and facilities reopen, Lanes Health Clubs and Worthing

RFC are looking forward to a fruitful partnership.
Jeremy Ramsden, Commercial and Sponsorship Manager at Worthing RFC, gave an overview of each clubs’ adaptations for their members and how Lanes Health Clubs was a perfect as a Centenary Champion:

“At Worthing RFC, part of my role is to ensure commercial partners very much fit with the core values and ethos of the Club. At Lanes Health Clubs, “community” is of paramount importance to Ash, his colleagues and the business alike.

Whilst the current situation is not ideal, it has meant both organisations have had to embrace change and adapt. At Worthing RFC, members now enjoy concessions and added-value benefits available by several commercial partners, and Lanes Health Clubs are offering a comprehensive digital health, fitness and wellbeing package. I’m particularly impressed by Lanes’ commitment to supporting mental health and those experiencing
increased anxiety during this unprecedented and traumatic time.

At Worthing RFC, we are delighted to be partnering with this fully-inclusive and friendly “community” health club, working closely in partnership to provide the best possible health and wellbeing solutions to the diverse membership base we are so immensely proud of and grateful to have.”

Managing Director for Lanes Health Clubs, Ash Ali, commented on his first meeting with
Jeremy and responds to the current climate:
“At Lanes we have always been keen on making positive impacts to our members’ lives,
from the moment they walk into our club until they leave, we have nothing but smiles and
positivity on our clock.

When I met Jeremy at a Worthing RFC business networking event before lockdown, I received such a warm greeting and immediately felt part of their club. This is exactly what we practise at Lanes with our members, so I immediately wanted to get involved and become a Centenary Champion.

I have always been a passionate individual and very optimistic in helping and getting involved in the local community. It is important for us to remember to use this unprecedented time to recuperate and come back stronger, it is a very challenging time globally, but we must keep positive.”
