Four young people have been selected from Hastings Borough Council’s StreetGames to attend a public health event and be part of a 30 strong young people’s group to meet and discuss health issues with Public Health England.
All four attended the ‘Have Your Say’ workshop and were invited to an event in London on 9 July with Public Health England. Cllr Dawn Poole the council’s lead member for leisure explained:
“Have Your Say is the youth voice for public health and it helps to influence a change in policy and procedure nationally on health, wellbeing and physical activity. We are very pleased that four young people have been chosen from Hastings to be part of this 30 strong group to represent and put forward ideas about health and wellbeing – they should be very proud of themselves!”
Connor, Andrew, Aiden and Toby are all aged between 17 and 18 years and participate locally in the council’s StreetGames project.
