Take a nostalgic journey through the last 50 years of movie musical history, filled with glamour and pazzaz, in Puttin’ On the Ritz at the Congress Theatre from Tuesday 2nd – Saturday 6th September, featuring special guest American singing sensation Lorna Luft, daughter of legendary Hollywood actress Judy Garland.
Lorna Luft is a celebrated live performer, stage, film and television actress, author, recording artist and Emmy-nominated producer. Lorna made her stage singing debut on The Judy Garland Show aged just 11 years and was a seasoned Broadway performer by the time she reached adulthood. A stellar entertainer Lorna shares her sense of humour and traces of that famous vibrato with her mother yet still retains a vivacious cabaret persona of her own.
With the music of George Gershwin, Irvin Berlin, Rodgers and Hart and Cole Porter and choreography inspired by the greats Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse, see clips of the most famous song and dance moments of the last 50 years of musicals on the big screen then watch the action recreated, live on stage by an award-winning cast of singers and dancers.
