The school summer holidays are well and truly a distant memory but four lucky young people reaped the benefits of Burgess Hill’s Big Summer of Fun, as winners of the Treasure Hunt and Design your own Ice Cream Competitions that ran during the summer holidays.
Layton McNeall, age 6 and Emily Jane, age 4 both of Burgess Hill won the Treasure Hunt Competition. Layton won a Playmobil Pirate Ship donated by KFC Burgess Hill and Emily won a Gift Hamper donated by Tinkerbell’s Gift Shop. Entrants had to spot six ‘gold coins’ in shop windows around the town centre.
Daisy McLellan, age 9 of Burgess Hill and Bradley Karkar, age 8 of Haywards Heath won the Design your own Ice Cream Competition. Judging was very difficult so two winners were picked, Daisy’s Super Honeycomb Swirl Delight and Bradley’s Krypton Ice Cream. Both of the winners had their dream ice cream flavour made up by local company Loaf Catering for them to try at home. Burgess Hill graphic designers Sublime Live created Daisy and Bradley’s label designs to go on the tubs of ice cream.
The Big Summer of Fun was organised by Burgess Hill Town Centre Partnership. Details of future events organised by the Town Centre Partnership can be found at www.cometoburgesshill.co.uk or on Facebook /teamburgesshill.
