All thoughts now on Christmas, maybe rising bills, travel and how to still have the very best of times…
SO another thought for all year long about family members, loved one’s etc who just disappear, no word, no message or contact, just gone.
My poem from 8th of 11th published books possibly asks questions for a problem that not too many suffer, but do they?
Missing
Most of us will have loved ones
That we enjoy hugging and kissing,
But sometimes life can become hard
If a special one just goes missing.
Because you may not have a clue
Of situations untoward or wrong,
But concerns and fears may escalate
If a disappearance goes on too long.
As over two hundred thousand people
Just go off and disappear each year,
And that’s one adult in five hundred
Who give their families cause to fear,
For their safety and well-being
When having a personal nightmare,
That they could be suffering alone
And feel nobody seems to care.
Though most people who go missing
Seem to very soon get safely back,
But others can be away for decades
And in long years all contact they lack,
Leaving families worried and afraid
Of that door knock they dread to hear,
Telling them their missing relative
Will no longer be coming near.
For sadly many never will return
Or complete a suicide they planned,
Thus a bewildered and guilty feeling
Leaves friends and family damned,
By a failure of real understanding
Of why no cry for help was heard.
Nor any noticed behaviour change,
And in fact they never said a word.
Now it can really only be imagined
The level of pain and anguish felt,
By usually decent and loving family
Of treasured relatives who melt
Away into a world full of uncertainty
With cameras and security everywhere,
But still fail to find or solve a mystery
Why the missing leave folks who care.
