Barnardo’s President Natasha Kaplinsky OBE visited Barnardo’s South East office in Crawley to learn more about the work of the charity’s services in the region.
The newsreader, presenter and journalist was welcomed by Barnardo’s Regional Director, Emma Bowman, and met various staff members, including project leads from the Barnardo’s Moving Forward (disability life skills) service and Surrey Positive Parenting Programme.
Natasha also attended various meetings – including one on Barnardo’s involvement in Brighton Pride – at the charity’s offices located in Satellite Business Park.
Natasha Kapinsky said: “It was great to meet staff and to hear about the amazing work that Barnardo’s does to support children and young people in the South East region.
“I am thrilled to be President for Barnardo’s and am keen to continue to visit as many services as I can and meet as many young people as possible to learn more about the challenges they face and how the charity is helping them”.
Emma Bowman said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Natasha to the Barnardo’s South East office and she wowed our teams with her interest and empathy to the cause. We look forward to introducing Natasha to more of our work in the future”.
Last year Barnardo’s South East supported more than 100,000 children, young people, parents and carers challenged by mental health, abuse, disability and discrimination.
