Following Burgess Hill Town Council’s recent Annual Meeting, – Cllr Jacqui Landriani was elected Town Mayor. Cllr Mandy Thomas-Atkin was elected as Deputy Mayor.
Cllr Jacqui Landriani said “We will be continuing the work to make Burgess Hill a Dementia Friendly Town. This illness affects so many people yet is not easily understood. This year we will also be providing more support for residents with mental health issues.”
Cllr Landriani added “I feel very honoured to have been elected to this position and look forward to meeting as many community groups as I can during my term as Mayor. I appreciate the valuable work which so many do for our community and the benefit our town derives from their contribution. I will also endeavour to represent Burgess Hill as widely as I can across Sussex and promote it as a forward thinking town with the prospect of an exciting future ahead. My chosen charity for the year will be Signposts (Mid-Sussex) Ltd of which I have been a Trustee for a number of years. This Centre based in the Old Post Office provides people with learning difficulties, their parents, carers and friends, support with advice, information, courses, groups and services.”
